The Pink Gang was a faction on Pxls.space that focused on making a pink background as well as primarily pink arts. Common arts involve anime characters, chibi arts, pokemon and other pink-related pieces. It was created on Canvas 31 originally as a group of egos, its first art was on Canvas 32. Pink Gang steadily expanded during its first few canvases, and remained as a large yet non-threatening faction until Canvas 52, where it was last at its full-size on the canvas, before finally having its last art on Canvas 55.
Pink Gang had not participated in any significant canvas wars between major factions. They had decided to take a neutral stance on pxls canvas politics, however interventions and more aggressive manoeuvres were thought about, but never undertook. This stance leaves Pink Gang as a steady and stable faction on the canvas.
Not to be confused with Pink Pogs, a faction active on Canvas 29
History
Canvas 31
Pink gang was founded on Canvas 31, in the top right corner. At the time it featured largely egos, from users like GrayTurtles, QueenV and Sidestep. The main art was the blushing emoji with "Pink Gang was here" written underneath it. These users would make the base of Pink Gang at the time, with GrayTurtles leading.
Canvas 32
Pink Gang worked primarily on the front sock of the cat on Canvas 32, this was the first instance of a logo for Pink Gang, it remains as an emoji in the Pink Gang discord server. Pink gang later expanded onto the third sock from the left, yet they did not place much art here as several art pieces were already here. On both socks a pink socc lattice extends upwards, bordering YOIB and Veil.
Canvas 33
Pink Gang collaborated with the BABA is YOU faction on Canvas 33, they were primarily based in the bottom-left corner of this canvas, and featured more socc art. Pink Gang gradually expanded upwards towards the center of canvas, meeting YOIB in the middle. Pink Gang also worked closely with Pixelstuck as they had a long border, this begins their close relations. YOIB and Pink Gang were often compared to a Ying and Yang on this canvas.
Canvas 34
On this canvas Pink Gang worked in the top left, bordering Pixelstuck, YOIB, HW and had a smaller Legion 'colony' in the on their lower portion. Their main art was a LoL character, Neeko, designed by Heliotic. As they expanded on this canvas, they moved down through Pixelstuck and established more art there. Pink Gang moved even further down the canvas, establishing the 'Pink Colony' in roughly the centre of the canvas.
Pink Gang also faced a few griefings this canvas, particularly by heheuwu on the outlines of art. heheuwu placed magenta coloured pixels on some arts, yet never anything too big or particularly aggressive. Pink Gang holds no grudges or hostilities towards heheuwu.
Canvas 34a
Surprisingly, Pink Gang was able to secure a large area on Canvas 34a. Situated in the bottom left Coronavirus cell, they made what was affectionately called 'Yuumi Gun'. They were also somewhat involved in the Mod Abuse Mini War, yet this was not directly involved with the faction itself.
Canvas 35
Pink gang was located on the left side of the main cloud on Canvas 35 and was collaborating with Scrappy Pixels, this was the first time they made Kanna, which became a de-facto mascot for the faction for a period of time. They expanded to the left, towards Legion and Simian Sculptors. They also had control over the centre-top raindrop this canvas, establishing 'PinkLanders'. Pink gang remained neutral on the nearby Anglerfish War.
Canvas 36
On this canvas Pink Gang took up a large portion of the far left of this canvas, bordering Magenta Squad and Void as well as Cell Lattice, Green Lattice and Bahamaland on smaller fronts. They did not build any particularly large arts, due to Canvas 36's large amount of holes, yet they were able to claim a large amount of territory. They began with the core, gradually expanding into the top-left and to the right. Pink Gang also established friendly relations with Magenta Squad this canvas, due to their similar colour scheme and friendly relations between the leaders.
Canvas 37
Canvas 37 was at the time the biggest canvas Pink Gang had been present on, they bordered Magenta Squad, YOIB and Pixelstuck and had a collaboration with Proggity Prog OwO and was friendly with Pixelstuck. Once again YOIB and Pink Gang were compared to a Ying and Yang on the canvas. Pink Gang constructed their main arts, before helping out with the collaboration, then finally filling in the pink around their arts.
Canvas 38
Pink Gang was located in the centre of Canvas 38 and was one of the biggest factions this canvas. Pink Gang also featured in New New Pixel Allies as Kanna. Pink Gang bordered most factions as they were in a very central location. This canvas they expanded outwards from their core arts, maintaining friendly relations with all the factions around them.
Canvas 39
On Canvas 39 Pink Gang and their collaboration with Hollow Knight Pxls were situated in the middle-left, bordering the collab to the left, KAYC underneath them and Green Lattice above them, with smaller borders with Rainbow Pxls and Veil. This canvas they featured Kanna again, as well as various pink arts and their background.
Canvas 40
This canvas Pink Gang was on the top-middle, bordering YOIB, 2ch, KAYC, Simian Sculptors, Magenta Squad and Grayscale Pxls. They once again made Kanna, who now is also an emoji on the Pink Gang discord server. Pink Gang expanded out again from their core art steadily. Overall Canvas 40 was not the most interesting canvas for Pink Gang.
Canvas 41
Canvas 41 was also much like Canvas 40 for Pink Gang. They were located in the top middle, bordering Cell Lattice, Lewd Lattice, Legion and Grid Illusion Lattice. They continued making more pink arts, constructing Kanna again this canvas. Its important to note that the larger Kanna art to the lower left of Pink Gang is not Pink Gang art.
Canvas 42
On Canvas 42 Pink Gang bordered Veil, Lewd Lattice, Polonian Pxls, ManePxls and Corner Gang. This canvas they featured a large art from the anime 'One Piece' as a collaboration with Dani. Unfortunately they had to remove one art piece from their template this canvas due to the limited space. They also debated on changing the Spotify logo to a pink variant, however they decided against it in the end.
Canvas 43
Pink Gang was located in the middle-left on Canvas 43, between 2ch, Hollow Knight Pxls and Rainbow Pxls as well as having some smaller borders with other various factions. Pink Gang was able to remain neutral in the disputes between 2ch and other factions on the canvas, due to their relations with other factions and their choices to remain neutral during conflicts. It is important to note that the bunny-girl was not part of the Pink Gang template, yet was later added once the art was finished.
Canvas 43a
Canvas 43a was a gimmick canvas, that only lasted for a short amount of time, Pink Gang bordered Legion and Hollow Knight Pxls and was located on the middle-left of the canvas. Pink Gang had a small and compact template with no particular theme, this template had a high art-per-pixel ratio, easily being the most compact template on the entire canvas at the time.
Canvas 44
For Canvas 44 Pink Gang was pressed hard against the far-left of the canvas, bordering Veil, Corner Gang, Hollow Knight Pxls, Grid Illusion Lattice, YOIB and Pixelstuck. They had no particular theme this canvas, yet Kirby was prominent, their lack of a theme was likely due to "our plans are a little last minute", quote from Tillbug. Pink Gang had transitions between all of the factions bordering it, all of which were decently large and looked somewhat nice.
Canvas 45
For Canvas 45 Pink Gang was on the mid-right of the canvas, with a fast-food theme, bordering Veil and Hollow Knight Pxls, along with only a small amount of other factions and arts. Pink Gang featured many food-themed arts, with burgers being a main theme, the main and minor arts were all very consistent with the theme. Unlike Pink Gang, they did not make a transition between Veil's background and Pink Gang's background.
Canvas 45a
Canvas 45a was a gimmick canvas, where each user was only able to place two colours. Pink Gang had a minor presence on this canvas, and only had a small template. For this canvas Pink Gang only placed a pink and pixelated version of the LETSFUCKINGGOOOOO emote, with the text 'LETSPINKINGGOOOOOOOOOOOO'.
Canvas 46
Pink Gang was located at the top-middle of Canvas 46, bordering Cell Lattice, Brasil Lattice, Gura's Supermarket, Hall of Flags, Green Lattice, 2ch, Veil and various other factions. This canvas they were collaborating with The Rift, which made their initial template ambitious, with leader GrayTurtles stating that "If we have problems to claim i might remove the dragon", with 'the dragon' being the second dragon to the bottom-right of the main art. The art featured was stylised differently, using higher contrasting colours between dark blues and pinks/purples, with several people praising the crystal on the bottom-left of the main template.
Canvas 47
Canvas 47 featured Pink Gang in the top-left of the canvas, due to the canvases rectangular shape, it was able to be positioned there rather easily. They bordered Pride, Spurdo Lattice, PokePxls along with several other minor arts and lattices. For this canvas, Pink Gang went with a space theme, featuring a large main art, along with several other side arts. For this canvas, Pink Gang member Turner decided to use a different placement pattern for the main art, by spiralling outwards from the centre of the template, before spiralling back inwards once the first spiral was completed. This meant that the heatmap on pxls.fiddle had an interesting spiral pattern on it.
Canvas 48
Pink Gang on Canvas 48 was at the top-middle of the canvas, bordering Polonian Pxls, Pxlsgaming, Cell Lattice, Scrappy Pixels and Musical Pxls, along with a few other lattices, they were also in a collaboration with The Helpers during this canvas. This canvas they had decided to go with a music theme, featuring many smaller music-themed arts, and a large and more vibrant main art, that was slightly less 'musical' than the other arts around it.
Canvas 49
On Canvas 49 Pink Gang was at the bottom middle of the canvas, as previously planned in #plans of the pxls.space discord server, they bordered Navy Blue Grand Monarchy, Femboy Volunteers, Legion and various other smaller arts made by independent artists. They were also collaborating with Gura's Supermarket, which they would also do again on Canvas 52. Their template was about 62K pixels and had slowly expanded as the canvas went on, adding in more arts and making some minor changes to the already present arts.
Canvas 50
For Canvas 50 Pink Gang was located at the bottom of the canvas, between Navy Blue Grand Monarchy and YOIB. They decided to use a rain theme for this canvas, the border between Pink Gang and NGBM was a large cloud, that was raining on Pink Gang's template. Their template featured several arts of people holding umbrellas and smaller arts under the rain.
Towards the end of the canvas, leader GrayTurtles called on Pink Gang to help defend a pink Socc. The following message was posted in #announcements of the Pink Gang discord server:
"Why are they doing this? I have no idea, my guess is they're going after it because they needed space for their art, tho I suggested them a way to make it on their own area without raiding anyone but i just got ignored Why am I asking here? Well, this is my art and it's related to pink gang: this art is a remake+enhancement of an art we made on c36 and it's the art of an emote we have here: It's also a reference of the 2nd pink gang template: the pink soccs we made on c32. I would appreciate anyone's help even if you just come by to drop a stack." The pink socc was successfully defended.
Canvas 51
Canvas 51 featured Pink Gang and their Halloween arts in the top-left of the canvas, leaving them bordering Polonian Pxls and Pxlstar, with much of the top-left being cornered off to them, due to the odd shape of the canvas. Pink Gang finished their template in the early-mid canvas, a few additions were made to it, like several smalls ghosts suggested by SlatPile.
Canvas 52
Pink Gang bordered Navy Blue Grand Monarchy, The Purple Empire and The Rift on Canvas 52, they were located at the very top of the canvas. Pink Gang had used a Japanese theme for their arts, featuring a Japanese-style Pagoda and various characters in Japanese attire, this was done in a collaboration with Gura's Supermarket. Once the template was completed, users slowly spread the pink background out along the canvas, which lead Pink Gang to border NBGM and The Purple Empire.
Canvas 53
Pink Gang was not present on Canvas 53, with leader GrayTurtles saying in #announcements of the Pink Gang discord server, "As you may know, the canvas reset is very soon but for the first time we don’t have any plan, i’m currently busy IRL so i don’t have time to take care of this faction for the reset, that’s why we will be on a break next canvas, feel free to help anyone or just rest".
Canvas 54
Pink Gang was not present on Canvas 54 either, with leader GrayTurtles saying in #announcements of the Pink Gang discord server, "We will be on a break next canvas too ".
Canvas 55
Canvas 55 was preceded by an announcement from leader GrayTurtles saying, "no pink gang next canvas either", before following it up with another announcement stating "Actually forget that, I don't want to keep leading you on, I'm not motivated to continue this faction anymore (as you may have noticed) and I don't want it to stay in a state of "we're just on a break this canvas .. and the next canvas too ... oh and also this one ..." so it's time for it to end officially.", which would mean that Pink Gang would make one last piece on canvas 55.
Canvas 55 did not feature the traditional Pink Gang arts or template, instead it had a memorial art in the very centre of the canvas. The art read "The Pink Gang", "2020 - 2022" at the top of the piece, at the bottom it read "Nice while it lasted...".
The leader of Pink Gang, GrayTurtles wrote in the #announcements channel of the Pink Gang discord server that "We will not leave without saying goodbye tho, I made one last art for pink gang that we will make next canvas as our final art.", thus indicating the end of Pink Gang.
