Temriel is a Swedish Pxls staff member, and has been a user since 24 October 2019. He became a Moderator beginning 8 April 2025. Since joining, he has taken several hiatuses with varying lengths during his time on Pxls, with the last one ending on 23 November 2021, being active ever since. He is currently the faction leader of The Purple Empire, an admin in Flandre, part of the Swarm Council; the main leadership body behind Neuro-sama's Swarm, and a founder and leader of purp13/Y02B. Additionally, he owns the the Free Expeditionary Pixel Peace Keeping Forces of the Purple Imperial House of Deltearia, commonly shortened down to Free Expeditionary Peace Keeping Forces of House Deltearia. He is a pxls.space Wiki Admin, along with Waffle, pineApple and Selio.

In the middle of 2022, Temriel began translating the site into Swedish, which would earn him his contributor badge on site and in the Discord. He himself has commented on the lack of polish the translation has, however fixing those issues may prove difficult. He has also designed a few canvases, with one of them being used for Canvas 65. On 7 August 2024, he began work on the bot Tib, a stats tracking and placemap generating bot for The Purple Empire. On 20 August 2025, he took over active development of Clueless.

History

2019

Canvas 28

Temriel joined Pxls on the 24th of October 2019 after hearing it from an external source (editors note, he did not come with the TikTok Invasion, it was something else). He started in the bottom right of the canvas, slowly but surely placing blue pixels, until an explosion of people joined his discord server, massively inflating the Empire's size, which would then be the reason for it's downfall. The faction (and by extension, Temriel) attacked artwork, lattices, and was pretty hostile, which means that it only lasted a few days until Temriel gave the ownership to someone else on the Discord server as the Empire was collapsing. He originally thought that this would be the last time he would be on Pxls as he couldn't show his face afterwards due to the humiliating defeat, however next canvas he would return once again.

Canvas 29

When he came back once again, the Swedish Empire was his new faction to place for, and for most of the canvas he was uninvolved with drama personally, and mostly just placed on the Swedish flag that the faction had put over the country. He would help in the conquest of Norway, help in the "sinkmark" initiative and later respect Pinkmarks position as controllers of Denmark, even though he did want the Swedish Empire to take it over as well. Later, he would help the Swedish colonial attempts and subsequent conquest of Peru.

Canvas 30

This canvas saw the Swedish Empire join the Second Pixel Axis, which Temriel would help place on in small amounts. After a long while when the template was completed, he saw fit to recreate The Blue Empire from Canvas 28, but in a much smaller and way less organized form. No discord server would be created to support this, and he would never make notice of it during the time it existed.

Seeing that the SPA wasn't making any real artwork this canvas, Temriel once again decided to make a solo piece. It was a repeatable pattern it a specific way so it could be considered a lattice. This would also count as a sort-of revival of The Blue Empire once again, but as on c30, it was not official.

This canvas saw the last true appearance of The Blue Empire, as the appearance on Canvas 62 was a memorial, near the top of the canvas. Originally it covered a much larger area than on the final image, however it was overtaken by neighbouring flags.

Canvas 51

During late November of this canvas, Temriel decided to finally return after a long hiatus of not using Pxls. He would found and lead a purple-based background faction known as The Purple Empire, or TPE. The name officially uses the definitive article as to not have the acronym be "PE", a personal choice he himself decided.

He would end this canvas having placed 3809 pixels, the lowest in recent history (ignoring -snip- mode canvases).

Canvas 52

This canvas would see the beginning of his slow but sure integration to Pxls, notably by befriending XaiEia for many years to come, and the start of a friendship with Layla, ironically starting as a recommendation from Layla to Temriel which the latter initially rejected. This canvas would also see the formation of the TPE alliance with H2O Lattice, which would last into the Chromatic Empire until iButter left Pxls for good. It is still technically in effect.

2022

Canvas 53

Temriel was personally quite involved in the ImperialGuardism conflict, with TPE winning the fight and ImperialGuard getting platform banned from Pxls due to multiple rule violations. Before the hammer struck, however, ImperialGuard was already banned from the recruitment server he was using for the conflict, thus the platform ban was merely the nail in the coffin.

Canvas 54

An old favourite of his, Temriel enjoyed this canvas due to the general shape of TPE, the war against Cells, and the further development of his relation to Pxls.

Canvas 55

Finding a spot for TPE this canvas was easy, with the claiming template only being the emblem, name, and discord invite. This would later get expanded to include various other artworks. The initial claim went next to the Femboy Café after he had conversed with DelilahArt about going next to his faction, and surrounding it in the colour purple. This however did not go to plan after the multiple DDoS attacks against the Pxls.space platform during the Place Invasion, in tandem with the much higher user- and cooldown- times.

Dealing with the aftermath of the Place Invasion, like with the other background factions alike, such as Orange Gang and the Navy Blue Grand Monarchy, was a chaotic experience no one really was used to. Standard policy for all three factions was to not allow artwork on their backgrounds after it had been placed, which succeed for Orange Gang, most likely due to it being a lighter colour, and the Navy Blue Grand Monarchy, due to their sheer strength. Temriel's faction, the The Purple Empire however, was not as lucky. Compared to other TPE canvases, this one was by far the most art packed canvas, though thankfully almost all artwork built over TPE was at least some shade of purple. The entire invasion, along with the high cooldowns and user counts, lead to Temriel not nearly placing as many pixels as before, and his ability to defend TPE's background was therefore quite lackluster, which he would consider "Quite the embarrassment, and not really fun to be forced to see your pixels be placed over."

However, during the later days of this canvas, a new faction would be formed, with Temriel as one of the co-founders. This, of course, would become the Chromatic Empire, with Temriel as the factions' Chancellor. Along with pineApple (Liam) and Monster_Chicken, the three factions of The Purple Empire, the Navy Blue Grand Monarchy and Orange Gang, would unify under a singular banner to both strengthen each other and protect each others backgrounds. H2O Fan Club (then H2O Lattice) would later also join the Chromatic Empire as a full Imperial Subject, akin to the other factions already apart of the Chromatic Empire.

On the 29th of March, Temriel reached 100 000 all time pixels.

This was the first canvas where Temriel made an ego, depicting TPE's emblem. He has since made an ego on every main canvas*.

TPE was initially invited to partake in the Fish Collab, but due to his role in ChE, he was unable to help out or get ChE involved. He did however place a small amount near Gura's Supermarket's portion of the collab, and in their raid against some rather unlikable users present there.

Another favourite of Temriel's, due to the general shape of TPE's core at the end of the canvas, and due to the large swaths of land taken from Cell Lattice.

On the 1st of August, Temriel reached 200 000 all time pixels. His final ego for the canvas was griefed to display 000k.

Canvas 64a

He would end this canvas having placed 1209 pixels, the lowest so far in recent history.

Canvas 65

This canvas he also made use of the first version of his standard ego artwork, again depicting him as v4 flower from AoaPP, however at a smaller scale. This would now be the standard ego he would use from now on, except under special circumstances (see Canvas 67). It would now always be placed next to the main ego artwork if one was made that canvas.

Canvas 65a

Serving as template manager for ChE this canvas as well, he had to pull back from his position due to a mysterious eye blinding effect which subsided by the next day.

He would end this canvas having placed 1457 pixels. These however, did not count towards all time.

Canvas 66

He would end this canvas having placed 28912 pixels. For this canvas's ego artwork, it would depict the character Tamari, as first seen in the song Reckless Battery Burns.

Canvas 67

This canvas would serve as a milestone for the Chromatic Assistance Program (ChAP) in its progress, helping allies, vassals, and large parts of Pxls. This project was mostly headed by Universe, with assistance from Temriel.

During the canvas, one of Pxls' staff members had their account compromised via a bug in Pxls CORS, leading to the temporary banning and complete pixel reversal of several prominent users, including but not limited to Fruity and Antde.

As one of the founding members of Flandre many months prior, he participated in the mega "ego collab" between all members of Flandre, except those who specifically did not want to participate. He was depicted as v4flower.

On the 24th of April, Temriel reached 500 000 all time pixels, exactly 3.5 years after he had made his account, back on the 24th of October, 2019. His ego artwork this canvas would depict Ozen from Made in Abyss.

Canvas 67a

Due to the commonly noticed effect of the Chromatic Empire garnering large amounts of support on gimmick canvases, ChE used quite large arts comparatively to the existing placer core (and noticed slower speeds on "main" canvases), finishing them with speed and efficiency. The faction would, as always, receive many griefs, exemplified by the fact that after the first rotation the virgin map and lookups broke completely, effectively enabling -snip- by proxy.

This canvas would occur in the middle of Canvas 67, and lasted for 2 days. It would feature a gimmick where the canvas was rotated and moved around, however with the use of a special algorithm no pixels placed were ever lost.

He would end this canvas having placed an even 50000. Temriel debated on stopping early so he could end the canvas on 555,555 but he decided to keep going after talking to ND63.

On the 30th of June, Temriel reached 600 000 all time pixels. His ego this canvas was the Unpleasant Gradient with a very fiddled and bad looking lattice to accompany it.

Due to possible burnout and/or outside activities taking away his ability to place as much, he slowed down in the later days of the canvas.

On the 8th of October, Temriel reached 700 000 all time pixels. This is the latest canvas that has used the standard v4 flower ego artwork.

Canvas 75

His ego this canvas would feature a small happy Puro sprite. It would be griefed by Layla, adding a flower in his hair, and Universe, making him blush. However, Temriel liked these addition and kept them.

Other defiddled artworks made by Temriel this canvas would include two more Puro artworks, the first being a "femboy Puro" in a blue skirt, situated next to Solvernia and a bit below ManePxls. The second was a "Puro merp", situated below the Principality of Hyrule Pxls, and above osu!. The second one is notable in the fact that it was used to cover up a Schizo raid in the area, with given permission.

On the 31st of December, Temriel reached his end-of-year goal of 777777, just a few hours before New Years. This canvas also featured the new standard of egos made by Temriel, as it was no longer a recolour of an existing pixel art.

Near the Chromatic Empire's artwork, he'd make a solo artwork depicting Tame Mene along with his ego.

During Sinder's Subathon Canvas, Temriel was offered the role of Council Member within the Neuro-sama Swarm Council due to his templating skills, art knowledge, and general helpfulness to the Swarm. To this day, he still claims for the Swarm during Pxls resets and constructs their templates.

Despite some difficulties regarding defiddle completion, TPE and the rest of purp13 went smoothly this canvas.

Soon after turning 18, he submitted a mod application to join the Pxls staff team. This was swiftly accepted just four days later, entering the Trail Moderator phase on 8 April. After a relatively calm trail (not trial) period, he was was fully promoted to Moderator on 25 April. He is currently the staff member with the most all time pixels, and was also promoted to moderator the "latest," all time pixels wise. dani26795 remains as the staff member who has had the most all time pixels throughout Pxls history, however this will most likely change during the first half of 2026.

On the 15th of April, Temriel reached 1 250 000 all time pixels, attaining a new badge in Pxls chat along with it.

Temriel took over active development of Clueless on the 20th of August, merging all old data into one unified database. This worked smoothly for the most part, as all user data was transferred without much hiccup. However, all previous template data was deleted due to lack of use, and the online data for that period could not as easily have been replicated.

purp13 would rename itself to Y02B this canvas, a play on YOIB, however keeping the tradition of replacing certain letters with numbers. He served as a "Yoib Genewuw" within the faction, or simply, a leader. As one of the founders, he had slightly more authority than the other leaders. However, most of this power was symbolic.

On the 1st of October, Temriel reached 1 400 000 all time pixels.

He would end this canvas having placed 9500 pixels, which coincided with his 1 400 000 all time pixels.

Canvas 94

TPE entered into a collab with Prism this canvas.

He played a pro-Swarm role in the negotiations between the Swarm Council and Neuro Expulsion Corps (NEC) during the Swarm War (Canvas 94) before negotiations broke down in early November, with all further attempts shot down by NEC.

On the 10th of November, Temriel reached 1 444 444 all time pixels.

He would end this canvas having placed 48 441 pixels.

Canvas 95

Temriel stepped down from the Swarm Council this canvas due to a personal incident with one of its members following a comment. He still maintains strong working relations with the faction as a whole, though.

Y02B collab. Into V02D due to controversy.

TPE canvas. Big.

On the 27th of December, Temriel reached 1 500 000 all time pixels.

On the 31st of December, he reached his end-of-year goal of 1 505 504. This is 727 727 more than his count at the end of 2023, which was 777 777.

He would end this canvas having placed 55 965 pixels, the most he has ever placed in a single canvas.

Canvas 97

TPE entered into a collab with Rain World on Pxls (RWoP) this canvas, creating an artwork of "Five Pebbles" with supporting artworks surrounding it. However, due to some unfortunate timing (and some non-existent foresight in a staff sense), the chosen canvas was all black. This resulted in around 54k pixels in virgin abuse. Garnering support from her own placers and some from other factions, devirgining would finally be done and cleaned up on the 26th of February, finally allowing for proper template expansion.

Due to the revelations concerning ScotPxls, their main artwork was raided by 2v for using AI in large or all aspects of its creation, who would later be joined by TPE for clean-up.

The Tellum news channel was also revived this canvas. This is inspired by The Pixel Piper and mostly focuses on recording important events in a central space- different from the more information dense Pxls wiki.

The TPE x RWoP collab was set to continue on Canvas 98

Due to some reset shenanigans, the canvas database table had to be reset. Thus, the allt ime counts and canvas counts did not line up for a large part of users.

On the 10th of May, Temriel passed dani26795, regaining 6th place all time.

Factions

Current Factions

The Purple Empire

Temriel founded The Purple Empire on Canvas 51 after he came back to pxls.space after a few months long hiatus. It was a faction that was initially dedicated to making a purple background, and nothing more. During Canvas 52 and after a talk with Layla (then DelilahArt), TPE's focus shifted to making some artworks to support its background. The faction served as an independent playground for Temriel until it became part of the Chromatic Empire on Canvas 55, but before that it changed its philosophy immensely since as previously stated it was only a purple background faction at the start, but from Canvas 53 onwards, TPE made dedicated purple artworks each canvas. The most notable of these artworks on C53 include XaiEia's 20k Candies n' Curses (CnC) piece, which she placed almost entirely by herself. On Canvas 54, TPE made another large CnC artwork with accompanying artworks surrounding it, and Big Trans Flags joining the 'core'. TPE would also help in the Cell War (C54) this canvas, grabbing small territories nearby. On C55, due to r/place 2022, Pxls saw a massive influx in users. This coincided with a lot of artworks being created on TPE's background, which while initially annoying Temriel, looks quite nice in retrospect. Due to the relative power difference between the new users and TPE's members, they could not be destroyed even if Temriel wanted to.

During ChE, its activity gradually lessened over time as maintaining the 'core' ChE structure gained priority. However, due to resistance from Temriel, the system of 'Imperial Subjects' which TPE fell under was never abolished. The faction's role in artwork was the purple section of the colour wheel during unified canvases, and during so-called separate ChE canvases (notably Canvas 60, Canvas 61 and Canvas 68) TPE had its own section either by ChE, or it worked independently. As an Imperial Subject of the Chromatic Imperial crown, almost all military operations were supported by it and fellow imperial subjects, helped by the fact that Temriel was Chancellor (second in command). TPE was, through the entire existence of the Chromatic Empire, at least the second most powerful Imperial Subject. During the mentioned separate canvases, TPE was usually larger than all others. During the Chromatic Colour Canvases Project (Project CCC) headed by Temriel, TPE was the first Imperial Subject featured. Over the course of six canvases, starting Canvas 77, all factions would get one canvas each where they would place only one colour (representing each Subject) with associated coloured arts. This was similar to previous separate canvases, however this time it had the full force of the Chromatic Empire behind it. Partially inspired by Darkhood, Temriel would add dozens of small arts of the corresponding colour each canvas, and C77 was the first test of the concept. It worked perfectly.

After leaving the Chromatic Empire on Canvas 80 after an incident between Temriel and pineApple (you can read pineApple's perspective on this here), the faction started on its own course again. It quickly allied itself with Gura's Supermarket and Neuro-sama's Swarm, returning with a FURU Pxls collab on Canvas 81. Nowadays, TPE is highly focused on its purple background more than anything else, as arts can more or less be anything; however purple ones are prefered. Additionally, TPE has a placemap generating and point counting bot called Tib. Developed by Temriel, it gets its name from a misspelling of Teb, which came from shortening Temriel Bot. As of 10 November 2025, over 110 people have used the bot to generate placemaps.

Flandre

After stopping the Chromatic Imperial retaliation attack on Fruity and Roaka's ego templates after their earlier raid on the Chromatic Imperial core on Canvas 60 by talking to pineApple and Fruity in DM's, Temriel would later be invited to join Flandre when the Flandre–Foxhole War was ongoing. He would be the first member of the Flandre discord server, being the original server creator and owner. Ownership was then handed over to Fruity shortly after she joined, however Temriel would keep his admin role and permissions (and has since). Fruity would remain owner until late October 2022 when she handed it back to Temriel due to personal reasons. Right before new years, Fruity was re-given ownership of the server due to a personal request and has owned it since.

Neuro-sama's Swarm

Having been offered council membership during the Sinder event canvas, he helped the Swarm with templates during it, and their eventual arrival to pxls.space. He would help out as template claimer on reset days, and when the Ironmouse event canvas occurred, he was one of the leaders for the very overpowered Swarm. Along with the rest of the council, he tried as hard as he could to make sure the Swarm was kept under control, and while he was awake, it seemed to work. On Pxls, he has designed several of their lattice templates, and is usually the one to construct the templates to be used for Pxls reset.

V02D

V02D, previously Y02B and purp13, is a collection of factions that sometimes collaborate. They are mainly focused on working together during gimmick canvases, however they have occasionally done main canvas collabs, on Canvas 89 and Canvas 95. It is not an alliance group.

Several r4nd0m factions are part of V02D, however that group is not part of V02D.

Previous Factions

The Blue Empire

The first faction that Temriel had been a part of was his own faction of The Blue Empire, a Pxls spin-off of the Blue Corner from /r/place (not to be confused with the Navy Blue Grand Monarchy). This faction has re-appeared 4 times, first on Canvas 28, slightly on Canvas 30, a larger bit on Canvas 30a and lastly on Canvas 37.

The Swedish Empire

After the disastrous campaigns Temriel had launched during Canvas 28, and the subsequent downfall of the Empire, he decided to switch factions and place for one that represented his home country of Sweden. It appeared to be a success in reviving his interest in Pxls further, as he was additionally active on Canvas 30 and other currently unknown canvases.

Second Pixel Axis

During Canvas 29 in the later parts of the canvas, the idea of a Second Pixel Axis was come up with between the leaders of several nationalistic factions, and ManePxls. When the template for it was announced on Canvas 30, he began placing on it to symbolize his allegiance to both the Swedish Empire and to the Second Pixel Axis.

During Canvas 32 he also placed for the faction in the large and controversial art collab between the Second Pixel Axis and the New Pixel Allies. Notably, he also helped in slight amounts with the :pizdec: lattice surrounding the artworks.

Polonian Pxls

On several canvases, starting from Canvas 38, Temriel had found himself aligning with a Polish-themed faction, owned by YoujPL. He placed for the faction on Canvas 38, Canvas 39, Canvas 40, Canvas 41, Canvas 42 and Canvas 43. During Canvas 44, he only placed around 250 pixels for the faction, and on Canvas 45 and Canvas 46 it was less than 100 a canvas.

The Magenta Empire

A very short concept faction, based upon the colour of Purple. This was due to Temriel thinking the Purple on-site was called Magenta. When he realized his mistake, the faction name was quickly changed to The Purple Empire, what we have now.

Chromatic Empire

Temriel served as second in command and Chancellor of the Chromatic Empire (ChE) for almost its entire existence. After losing the vote to become Emperor of the Chromatic Empire, the suggestion of a "Chancellor" role was put forth, which Temriel won the vote to. He served the Chromatic Empire as much as he realistically was able to, up until the internal dispute concerning pineApple, or Liam. He left shortly after this, having the new Chancellor become Woahdang_Jr without a vote. A few canvases later, the faction was effectively retired.

Other Factions

This is mostly for factions Temriel has placed for that he does not directly lead. The levels of support vary significantly, from some pixels every now and then to dedicating several days for placing. This goes for both active and inactive factions.

Legion

Temriel has on numerous occasions placed for Legion since he thinks the faction is cool, enough such that he has gained the role "Triarius", which is "[...] given for 10k pixels. Opens access to our famous “Book“. Limit in art help increased to 10k." In total, he has about 15k placed for the faction.

FURU Pxls

Even though he serves as a moderator in FURU, he never places for it full-time, only occasionally placing for the faction since he is a furry. However, as a way to help out, he did develop ProtoBot for the faciton, a way to automatically update https://furu.lol/template.

The Ember Empire

As an active chatter in its Discord server, Temriel on occasion places for EE near the end of some canvases, and fully during purp13.

He used to place for this faction when it was active, at least in some capacity. He has the "realest ones" role in the Discord server.

Gura's Supermarket

Placing for the faction on occasion over the years, he eventually reached the "Commander Deadbeat" role (mostly due to gura points being inflated), and a good ally due to his friendship with Lava123Z555 and gaudi999.
