The Legion invasion of Canvas 43a was part of the Legion's wider plan to occupy the gimmick canvas, sparing only the art of their allies and close friends—YOIB, Veil, Pixelstuck, Green Lattice, and Doki Doki Pxls Club.[3] It was one of the largest wars on Pxls.space, at least in terms of groups involved. Despite this, it was considered a more "casual" invasion compared to past ones such as the 2ch Invasions in 2018, as Legion made it clear they would not be repeating this strategy, and in some cases they seemed to even want resistance.
Timeline
Start - Lattice invasions
In order to test their strength and capabilities on Pxls.space, the faction Legion—the largest group on the site—announced at the beginning of Canvas 43a they would be invading the entire canvas, though the art of factions they were friendly with would not be touched. They also stated that anyone who resisted them would not suffer reprisals from Legion on future canvases. The focus of the invasion started with a strong emphasis on expanding their red-black lattice. After they covered the factions Terraria Pxls and Hive, the League of Factions entered the conflict,[4] stating that it would offer unconditional defense to any arts attacked by Legion during the invasion. In the early days of the canvas, both the LOF and Legion Discord servers saw significant increase in population.
Meanwhile, Legion and Woke Cells were initially hostile to one another, until Wokes made an agreement to surrender their lattice territory in exchange for a collab and backing Legion in their invasions.[5]
After just coming out of the C43 War, the LOF adapted some of its strategies, creating a "rapid ops" group for shorter strikes during the invasions. Its first actions were to mount an attack to rebuild the destroyed Hive template, which was successful, as well as to defend some other Pokemon art. It also defended Cursed Clan against a lattice invasion by Legion, but ultimately the LOF forces were defeated. Later, a counterattack was mounted to rebuild Cursed Clan, which achieved about 60% of the rebuilding before Legion defenders overpowered them.
Middle - Pitched battles
As the conflict continued, Legion's lattice and new road designs expanded peacefully in other locations, sometimes with help from Pixelstuck.
Later, Legion attacked the "Megumin" art, a combined template consisting of three characters. They were able to destroy two of the characters with their template amidst LOF resistance. After this, they attacked the two nearby Pokemon arts in quick succession, winning in both engagements.
The LOF reorganized its forces and struck to rebuild the covered Megumin art, beginning one of the longest battles of the war. While one character was eventually rebuilt by the League, they faced a withering Legion counterattack when they tried to rebuild the third, though it was eventually fought off. Finally, the third character in the Megumin template was completed. A few hours later, Legion had reorganized for an overpowering counterattack, which once again covered the Megumin template and replaced it with a group of legionaries.
During this time, Legion made a deal with Inverted Anarchist; as part of the deal, Legion would consume their lattice territory but spare their art.[6] Legion also decided to ignore the nearby H20 Lattice. Afterwards, Legion decided to invade Cell Lattice's territory in the far left of the canvas. Shortly after the CL core was covered by Legion, the LOF mounted rapid ops on Cell Lattice and Megumin; however, both were defeated by Legion's defense cohort.
End - Void conflicts, final lattice attacks
Meanwhile, a significant black void had been started in the middle of Legion's lattice, aggressively striking it as well as a "bagion" template. Legion clashed with the void for hours, ultimately defeating it. For the anti-void attacks, Legion was supported by YOIB placers. After the void was defeated, bagion templates were placed over the spot where it was located.
Throughout the conflict, griefs of varying size were conducted against Legion and its allies, including griefs with Blue Lattice.
During this time, the H2O lattice near Legion invaded Pixelstuck's background, causing Legion to invade it response.
Also during the conflict, artists from Pink Gang helped to redesign the Legion-DDPC collab.
Later, an independent LOF star template came under attack, and despite the resistance of the League, it was covered as well.
While the LOF was planning for a large-scale counteroffensive, it was announced in the last 24 hours that it would have to be cancelled due to one of the admins of the LOF being unavailable with real-life.
At reset, Legion held about 1/3 of the placeable pixels on the canvas. Every party involved in the conflict considered the war to be over, with no one known to be holding grudges as of Canvas 44.[7]
