The Second Battle of the Trollface (called Operation Backspring by the League of Factions) was a major battle on Canvas 41. It was one of the largest battles of the Troll Face War.
It lasted around 3 hours, involved over 115 users, and saw heavy use of chatbans due to widespread incivility. It also sparked debate over the Pxls rules surrounding drawing genitalia and an influx of new users.
Prelude
The battle came after an earlier unsuccessful attempt to build a trollface, and it was clear that the attackers would need more firepower.
The Second Battle of the Trollface was organized by members of The Refuge, who got dozens of users from several Discord servers to coordinate and make a trollface over Pride Faction's template.
Timeline
Initial invasion
The initial invasion vastly outnumbered Pride Faction defenders and volunteer allies, allowing them to quickly progress in making a trollface albeit with their progress being slowed.
League of Factions counter-invasion
Approximately an hour after the original invasion the League of Factions launched Operation Backspring, an attempt to repair the Pride Faction template by destroying the trollface. The counter-invasion was heavily resisted, and lasted around 3 hours. Each side received major reinforcements, pushing the number of online users to higher than that of a normal reset. Ultimately the LoF would overpower the trollface builders, ending the large battle, but the fight for the area was not over by a long shot.
Reparations and followup attacks
A variety of users brought to the site for building the trollface stuck around, mounting smaller griefs and attacks for days after the Second Battle. One later skirmish was when a few of the group members tried to change the Russian anime girl from the хуй faction's eyes to blue and hair blonde.
Aftermath
A third trollface attack would be conducted on October 24th, which was also repelled by the League of Factions. That battle involved around 90 users. A fourth strike, involving only around 20 users, took place on the 30th of October and was repelled by Pride Faction and its allies.
People involved
Over 115 users were involved in the battle, including more than 50 from off Pxls.
