The Battle of the Cap was a conflict near the end of canvas 76. It was a planned attack by GSm on the main art of osu!. The battle lasted 5 hours and over the course of it other factions and many volunteers joined on both sides.
The raid by Gura's Supermarket had a planned end date, which most knew about except for one of the osuplace admins. As they thought the battle was going to go on for as long as possible, they decided, as a last resort and despite protests, to ping everyone in their discord server. This would total to around 11500 people pinged, bringing in around 30 users to osu!'s side. Ironically enough, the raid by GSm would be stopped only one minute later, at European midnight.
Partway through the battle, ioanBG (leader of the Lesser Kingdom of Magenta) and another user placed magenta pixels on the hat for a short time acting as a small third combatant.
