The design of this canvas used the same idea as canvas 10 by starting as a patchwork of 49 squares, each square taken from the respective location of previous canvases. The colors for the initial canvas were turned grayscale since on canvas 10 there was some confusion as to which projects were new, or just part of the initial canvas.

The size of the canvas was 1295x1295 and 1,486,181 of the 1,677,025 total pixels were placeable. (88.6%) There were also 30,242 unplaceable colored pixels which can be seen highlighted in red in the placemap image to the right.
