The War of the Waves was a series of battles involving the Turkey faction and its various adversaries, including Cursed Clan, the League of Factions and the Eastside Legal Team on Canvas 40.
Timeline
First Turkish arrival
A British flag had been propped up around the top right of the canvas. Around this time many Turkish invaders had joined Pxls, the same time the Russians had started their Incursion. From an unknown forum, Turks started to put over the flag of the UK, a map of Turkey. They were resisted by volunteers from chat, until they reorganized and destroyed the flag with their map. At this time, Turkey attacked Cursed Clan's main template, but were fended off.
The Eastside Legal Team cropped up in response to the attack on the British flag, launching a voiding campaign (they called the "purple plague) against the Turkish map. They were fended off and eventually gave up.
Operation High Water (LOF intervention)
The Turks later expanded onto the Great Wave, built as an alternate template by a member of the League of Factions. This enraged the LOF, who launched an advance onto Turkey to repair the Great Wave. This advance, called Operation High Water, was supported by the Eastside Legal Team and some more volunteers. It resulted in a success for the LOF as the Great Wave was repaired.
Cursed Clan attacks (Invasion of Turkey)
In response to the above griefing against their collab, Cursed Clan independently began building a turkey over another part of the Turkey map. After a long battle, the Turks were able to destroy it. Later, Cursed Clan offered a peace treaty, but the Turks turned it down.
A day later, a fierce second attack mounted by Cursed Clan, and lots of volunteer griefers attacked the Turkish map in a variety of ways. The "purple plague," made by the Eastside Legal Team, returned, while Bezimienny began building grief templates over the Turkish map as well.
Turkey's resistance began to collapse, and the battle was won with a British flag and cooked Turkey being built over the map, along with the text "Get Roasted." The area continued to look very messy after the war was done until Cursed Clan cleaned it up.
Aftermath
Turkey switched to a Turkish flag lattice, later allying with American PXLS. It reached an agreement with Deutscher Phoenix so DP's Spurdo Lattice could go around the LOF collab template without conflict.

These users mostly came from chat to defend the original UK flag attacked by Turkey. Most of them didn't return to the conflict afterward, except JarJar.

Eastside Legal Team
The ELT persistently voided the Turkish map with the color purple throughout the course of the conflict. Turkey was largely able to fight them off, until the very end when an ELT attack coincided with Cursed Clan's independent strikes and nailed the coffin of Turkey.

League of Factions
The League of Factions (LOF) intervened in the area after the Great Wave, a secondary template built by one of its members, was invaded by Turkey. The intervention was the most active point in the war, with large groups of users from the LOF and Turkish faction being called in to fight. The intervention (Operation High Water) was a success, and the Great Wave was restored.

Cursed Clan
Cursed Clan fought in the LOF intervention as well as engaged in several of its own independent attacks on Turkey. Eventually, they were successful, and the final collapse of Turkish resistance in the top-right area is attributable to the Cursed Clan follow-up attacks after Operation High Water.
