On Canvas 47, a background-lattice claim conflict took place between the Navy Blue Grand Monarchy and a collaboration between anime-themed factions known as the Anime Collab (led by Touhou Fanclub).

NBGM planned to expand their navy-blue background southwards down to the southeast corner of the canvas. At the same time, Touhou Fanclub (2hu) aspired to build a large lattice designed by 2hu member SilentPixel (who was also leader of Chibi Pxls, also part of the Anime Collab); it was based on symbols from the PC-98 Touhou games and was meant to encompass the right half of the Anime Collab: 2hu, Chibi, Scrappy Pixels, Hollow Knights Pxls, Grayscale Pxls, Cirno Embassy (CE), Tea N' Tea (TNT), and Femboy Volunteers, plus a few solo artworks.

Ultimately, 2hu faction leader Korgi negotiated a deal with pineApple: the PC-98 Lattice (now with white symbols gradually fading to Azure, then to Blue, then to Navy) would stop just at the line between the northern corner of Grayscale's art and the left leg (right from the viewer's POV) of CE's Cursed Object (a Fumo Cirno plushie), thus missing TNT and Femboys.

While NBGM would no longer be able to expand southwards as originally planned, it would be now clear to expand westwards up to a negotiated border with cutiefruity's Rainbow Lattice and spent the rest of the canvas moving upward and claiming virgin pixels.

Background

NBGM Expansion

The Navy Blue Grand Monarchy had recently decisively defeated Pee Gang in their recent conflict and had greatly expanded its territory to its south. The conflict remained largely unnoticed outside of the involved factions but the speed at which the NBGM had conquered the area had encouraged the NBGM elite, especially pineApple, to pursue a more active expansionist policy.

Touhou Fanclub Plans

Touhou Fanclub (largely under the guide of SilentPixel) had planned on making a lattice covering most of the uncovered southern portions of the purple stripe. The template started from the very south of the canvas and extended north to just above the main Femboy Volunteers art piece and encompassed many other arts, most of them being part of the Anime Collab.

Conflict

NBGM Reaction to the Touhou Lattice

Internally the NBGM forces agreed that the template posted by SilentPixel was an extreme overclaim, given that it had not progressed in the past several days and that the placing power of Touhou Fanclub had been evaluated as "3 people". It was internally agreed that the border must "look natural", however it was not agreed as to where exactly that would be, with the decision being to just place until an agreement is reached with 2hu. Not helping Touhou Fanclub was the fact that the only parts of their lattice that were completed at that time were the ones directly south of the NBGM's territories.

NBGM Invasion

In a matter of hours a force had been called in and it was decided that an assault would commence at 1:00 pm EST. on the 19th of June. The operation was a resounding success, with NBGM forces taking all areas up to the head of the green dinosaur, around the 980th horizontal pixel, in 5 hours. This line was decided to be a temporary stop of the advance, until more people could be called in, as most of the placers and commanders had gone inactive.

SilentPixel Reaction

SilentPixel had quickly noticed the NBGM advances and brought them up in the Pxls Server, where a discussion took place, with SilentPixel threatening to call in other Anime Collab members if the NBGM did not retreat past the 2hu claims. He rejected negotiations and claimed that "We [Anime Collab] will place our lattice beyond that [the 980th pixel line], until just above Femboys." Direct messages from NBGM leader pineApple resulted in the same outcome, with SilentPixel refusing to give up any claims.

Continued NBGM Actions

As a response to the unwillingness of SilentPixel, a second operation was launched 24h after the first one, with the purpose of further expanding into the 2hu claims. It was just as fast as the previous day's one. Soon after its start, official Touhou Fanclub leader Korgi contacted pineApple regarding the borders, with him agreeing to negotiate instead of SilentPixel.

Official Negotiations

SilentPixel originally proposed giving up all areas to the east of TnT's art, but this was quickly nullified when Korgi offered a border at the very south of Grayscale's art, with NBGM taking all areas to the north of it. The offer was later expanded to include almost all of TF's original claim, apart from a small area right next to 2hu's art. Eventually, Korgi and SilentPixel rolled back on their cessions, proposing a new border that would take the form of a gradient, with the PC-98 Lattice's white symbols gradually fading to Azure, then to Blue, then to Navy, stopping at the northern corner of the Grayscale artpiece, and the navy background behind those symbols ending at its southern one, with the border continuing westwards to CE's Fumo. This ceded less areas, however, the NBGM command saw it as a satisfactory deal and it was ratified.

Aftermath

On canvas

The PC-98 lattice was greatly reduced, with them going down from 33k to 12k including the transition, meaning that two thirds of 2hu's original claims were ceded. The NBGM continued its expansion and reached the border on the second day, after which its forces filled in areas around the Femboy Volunteers art and began moving north.
