Pxls Roads

Pxls Roads was a faction dedicated to making pixel-art road systems on canvas, Pxls Roads was similar to lattices, yet was not the traditional lattice like Green Lattice or Cell Lattice. These roads often spread across the canvas and went behind art, interacting with some lattices fairly easily by changing colours, "tunneling" or just ending/fading out. Pxls Roads was active for about 30 canvases and lead by several people over their time on pxls, they were one of the longest-running lattices on canvas and one of the most well-known.

Overview

Pxls Roads originally expanded without any real organised system, other than occasional announcements from leaders on where to expand and where not to expand roads. Along with this, Pxls Roads also raided other arts in the early days of their existence. Ren would provide art and templates for Pxls Roads on their earlier canvases, they were also one of the first users to join the faction. Pxls Roads appealed to newer uses and less-experienced pixel artists due to it's simplicity and easiness to add to, users would often add houses, extensions to roads and other things to the roads.

Pxls Roads become more organised when Chalkless assumed leadership of the faction, they setup a channel in the discord server titled #road-pieces that would provide pixel art of small sections of roads, like roundabouts, intersections, carparks, turns and straight pieces. Chalkless would also lead collaborations with other factions, like Cell Lattice, Green Lattice and Rainbow Road Redux on canvas 36.

Towards the end of Pxls Roads, they took breaks for a few canvases, Chalkless had taken a break from Pxls Roads to lead their own faction - KAYC - so Mulk took co-leadership with Chalkless. In this time Pxls Roads would make a collab piece with KAYC. Refugees raided Pxls Roads and "planned on covering the rest of [the Pxls Road art]", despite this threat, Pxls Roads did not have their art covered by time the canvas ended.

Pxls Roads officially ended with an announcement by Chalkless on the 27th of October 2021, with an announcement that read "Pxls is dead, so roads probably is too. It's best to knock it off with the stop-and-start we've been doing anyway. Good building with y'all".
