The Hugh Mungus Raid was one of many griefs against the Video Game Artists (and subsequently the Catboy Castle, which was in a collab with VGA), taking place on Canvas 68. It was a continuation of previous griefs against VGA-related artwork on the previous canvas, and was partially spurred by general distaste towards the faction. The raid started on a whim when Jen posted a template based on the song 'Hugh Mungus Meme Joke' by Hot Dad to cover up VGA's collab artwork with CBC. Members of Flandre and the Chromatic Empire began assisting with the template as well as providing more art to cover up the rest of VGA and CBC's artwork.

The raid was started by Jen near the end of C68 as retaliation against VGA for 'meddling with the development of Scrapbox', which was a cancelled fighting game developed by her. After undesirable members joined the game's server, most of the developers left the project as they were upset about the state of the game's early fanbase, as well as the constant requests for OCs to be added to the game for free. This inevitably lead to issues with development, and was one of the major reasons for the game's early cancellation, despite Jen's attempt to keep the game going.

Other Pxls members joined the raid as a result of increasing hatred towards VGA due to Avery being a rather manipulative person towards impressionable Pxls users - mainly children. This has been commonly complained about, but despite that nothing was done for quite some time.

A second raid took place on Canvas 73.

Timeline?

The raid began around May 28th 2023, when the template was produced out of nowhere by Jen as a joke. Somehow it gained traction, largely due to help from Falkenmond, left, _Etta and reissecup. Initially the raid was only meant to cover up the VGA portion of the template, with users such as ToeBeans calling for it to remain untouched, but as more and more members joined in to destroy their art CBC was inevitably covered up too.

The raid took roughly 4 days to finish. Initially VGA fought back hard with help from hazard12100 as only Jen and Falk were placing for Hugh, but as time went on the VGA members as well as hazard slowly gave up as it was evident that it would all be for nothing. Since the raid, Avery has been missing in action on Pxls, for some reason apologizing to Fruity of all people (who wasn't involved as she was taking a break after hitting 1 million pixels at the time) and holding off on making art for the foreseeable future out of fear of a second raid.
