There are 4 types of pixels that have been used to make various canvases on pxls.space.

Placeable colored pixels

Pixels that have a color and users can place on.

Every canvas has these pixels.

Unplaceable colored pixels

Pixels that have a color and users cannot place on.

Some staff members are able to enable a special setting that allows them to bypass this restriction and place on normally unplaceable pixels.

The Gameboy on canvas 56a was made of unplaceable colored pixels. Some Pxls staff used the placement bypass setting to make some small text and art outside the normally placeable area.

Placeable transparent pixels

Pixels that have no color and users can place on.

These types of pixels are disliked by some members of the community due to users not being able to revert any misplaced pixels since only some staff members can place transparent pixels using a special setting.

The initial state of canvas 32 had many unplaceable transparent pixels.
The final state of canvas 32 showing that most of the placeable transparent pixels were placed on.

Unplaceable transparent pixels

Pixels that have no color and users cannot place on.

These pixels always appear on canvases where the canvas is not a perfect rectangle.

Canvas 41 had many unplaceable transparent pixels.
