Campaign

A military conflict infobox may optionally be followed by a campaignbox template, which provides quick navigation among the battles in a campaign or war.

An article should generally include only one campaignbox; similarly, battles should not be listed on multiple campaigns. However, certain exceptions to this guideline exist as a matter of convention.

The campaignbox should be included directly after the infobox template:

{{Infobox Military Conflict
...
}}
{{Campaignbox XXXX}}

If the campaign you need is not listed, you can create a new campaignbox for it. The campaignbox template should be named Template:Campaignbox XXXX where XXXX is a short name for the campaign (disambiguate with a date if necessary, for example Template:Campaignbox Somme 1916).

The new campaignbox should use Template:Campaign, like this:

{{Campaign
|name=
|battles=
}}
  • The "name" of the campaign should be linked to an article about the campaign, if one exists.
  • "battles" should be an en-dash separated list of battles in the campaign. Abbreviate the names of the battles to keep the box small (for example link to "Battle of YYYY" as [[Battle of YYYY|YYYY]]).
  • Remember to add the new campaignbox to this list!
