Significant opposition to Legion was sparked by the Legion-[[Veil]] collab of Canvas 34. It led to the creation of the [[NCR]], which created a sign ridiculing Legion, and the ''[[Conseil de Guerre]]'', which attempted to [[First War Against Legion|raid]] the collab. Both groups were attacked and thoroughly defeated by Legion. On [[Canvas 35]], the Legion-Veil-[[CZVLT]]-[[YOIB]] bloc drew enormous criticism for their excessive claims. This led to a claim conflict called the [[Anglerfish War]] that pitted Legion and its allies against Simian Sculptors and various antilegs, which included the NCR, [[War Council]], and [[Nutya]] factions. The Anglerfish War was fought to a stalemate and ended in a negotiated peace overseen by the newly-formed Legion Diplomatic Corps. It also caused Legion to be more restrained with their claiming and led to the decline of anti-Legion sentiment in general.

However, Legion opposition continued in the form of a coalition called [[Defiance]] until the [[Progs Land Raid]] of [[Canvas 36]] permanently shattered the movement.
