Zinzamoure: started the thing

Osaka Nation is a pxls faction owned by [[Zinzamoure]]. It is based around making art of Ayumu "Osaka" Kasuga from animanga series Azumanga Daioh. The faction has been active since [[Canvas 70]].

[https://pxls.space/profile/zinzamoure Zinzamoure] (zin-za-moore), also called by his name Zin, is a pxls user. He is the (despite his dislike of the word) leader of the Osaka Nation faction. That faction creates art of the Azumanga Daioh character Ayumu Kasuga, otherwise known as Osaka. His significant solo work revolves around Native American symbols & iconography on canvas. Zin is Native American, belonging to the [https://sni.org/ Seneca Nation of Indians] of the Haudenosaunee in New York State.

[[Canvas 70]]

Zin had joined almost exactly in the middle of c70, in search of an r/place alternative where he could put up an Iroquois/Haudenosaunee flag. The flag was completed, alongside a Seneca gustoweh (small headdress of the Haudenosaunee), with the help of a friend named [[Vitus]]. Once Zin had realized flags were very vulnerable on pxls, he tried to keep quiet about the fact that the flag was a flag, considering it isn't recognizable by the general public. However, the dweebazoid can't keep his mouth shut and eventually the flag was compromised. This led to a small, local conflict between Zin's new-found allies and griefers dotty and Kouhai. Zin's defense lasted the remainder of the canvas. Although tensions ran high, Zin has (lacking formality) made good with dotty as of now. And through that defense, Zin gained a new friend of mauzg0d, a Ukrainian pxls user.
His solo work for this canvas included a Two Spirit pride icon, a couple of different gothic favicon type arts, and an ego for 13k pixels (impressive, right?)

This is the first canvas where Osaka Nation was realized as art on canvas after Zin showed off a defiddled version of an official pixel sprite from an Azumanga-Daioh-themed game that he can't remember. Despite his incompetency at running a discord server for the faction, and sleeping through reset, Osaka had found a place on c71.
Zin's solo work on this canvas included an icon influenced by the American Indian Movement flag and YSL logo which eventually became an ego for 30k pixels. He also put three tiny fish scattered across canvas last minute. Alongside this, Zin helped [[Pebble]] after begging to be allowed to help on his original solo project of Eddsworld art, and adding his own little own gun & bottle icon next to the art. Zin also made a new friend this canvas: [[Reissecup]].

Zin has also collaborated with [[ToeBeans]] to create small art of Peanuts comic strip character Schroeder playing the piano (by Zin) and a burlesque Snoopy atop the piano (by [[ToeBeans]]). Zin's solo work on this canvas was a pixel art Tree of Peace from the story of the formation of the Iroquois Confederacy, a white pine with weapons buried underneath and an eagle atop the pine. His ego for this canvas was at 40k, and is art of the Daft Punk Discovery-era helmets alongside the number. And on 12 September 2023, Zin did a live-commentary in chat for the MTV Video Music Awards, entertaining chat with happenings of the award show. This canvas, Zin joined [[Red Army]] faction, contributing pixels to Eddsworld-themed art on this & future canvases.

For C73, a fall-themed Osaka was very quickly defiddled for Osaka Nation, as the realization set it that it was not Halloween canvas yet. He also aided a lot with several projects (and mini-griefs) planned by Red Army. He outlined minor smiley faces in canvas, which were due to be bulldozed by Osu lattice. He also aided with [[Weed Crown Assembly]]. His solo work for this canvas was a recreation of the Two Row Wampum, a sprite from Petscop of Care NLM, and a borpa riding a skateboard. His ego this canvas for 60k+ with a Konata Izumi sprite from a Lucky Star fighting game.

With Zin overwhelmed with panic at the size of other faction projects on the preclaim, pebble_ offered very kindly to downscale the 16k Osaka Nation art for this canvas (pebble did the original defiddle anyhow). The Osaka Nation projects on c71 & 72 were 16k, but this Osaka would not have been built if not reduced to 8k. He did not do a solo work for his streak of Native American themed art, but was inspired to make art of Elisa & Sergiu from Papers, Please. This became his ego of 87k. He also aided a new person with a small red & azure lattice.

The flag was completed, alongside a Seneca gustoweh (small headdress of the Haudenosaunee), with the help of a friend named Vitus. Once Zin had realized flags were very vulnerable on pxls, he tried to keep quiet about the fact that the flag was a flag, considering it isn't recognizable by the general public. However, the dweebazoid can't keep his mouth shut and eventually the flag was compromised. This led to a small, local conflict between Zin's new-found allies and griefers dotty and Kouhai. Red Army is a faction centered around creating art of Eddsworld, specifically the character Tord/Red Leader. Created by [[pebble_]]

=== Links to Eddsworld ===
Eddsworld was created by Edd Gould in 2003 as an animated internet series on Newgrounds. It centers around the three current main characters, based on real-life friends of Edd: Edd himself, Tom, Matt, and Tord. In 2008, Tord left to pursue his own work outside of the attention Eddsworld had garnered.

In 2012, Edd passed away after a long battle with cancer, and the production of Eddsworld was handed over to Tom (TomSka), Matt, and other close creators. The new production of Eddsworld was called Eddsworld Legacy, and Eddsworld pre-dating Edd’s passing is called Eddsworld Classic.

Eddsworld Legacy ended in 2016 with a two-part episode titled The End. This episode brought back Tord’s character (without Tord’s real-life counterpart) and made him into an antagonist of the entire episode. He had the scheme to recapture a giant robot he had built at their house prior and to eventually “take over the world”. It is heavily implied throughout the episode and in the background of Eddsworld Legacy that Tord is the leader of a de facto militia.

Red Leader is referenced in Eddsworld episode WTFuture by Future Tom. This is because the concept of the Red Leader & Red Army was made by Edd & Tom in 2008 for a show called Super Average, set in the same world as Eddsworld with Red Army being the main evil antagonist group. Eddsworld Legacy was supposed to be a setup for Super Average. The names carried over to Tord’s militia and to him as “Red Leader”. Overall, Tord’s reappearance in The End and his new-found, hidden lore made him a favorite among fans.

The Red Army in Eddsworld fanon (fan-canon) has no canonical, direct connections to communism or the historical Red Army. Any work the Red Army faction does on pxls is related to Eddsworld, Tord, and nothing else outside of it.
